Chloe & Ben’s special celebration by Joshua Haken

It was such a pleasure to second shoot this gorgeous Oxford wedding alongside the incredibly talented Dale Stephens. Chloe & Ben’s big day was full of warmth, love, and a few unforgettable twists — including a boat ride down the Thames!

A Beautiful Oxford Town Hall Ceremony

Chloe & Ben chose the iconic Oxford Town Hall as the backdrop for their ceremony, and it couldn’t have been a better setting. Surrounded by around 50 of their closest family and friends, the ceremony felt intimate and personal. The grand architecture and soft light filtering through the windows made it a dream to photograph.

As an Oxford Town Hall wedding photographer, I can honestly say this venue never disappoints. It offers elegance and history in equal measure — perfect for couples wanting a timeless atmosphere.

A Walk Through Oxford & a Boat Ride to Remember

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests took a gentle stroll through the charming Oxford streets to the riverside. From there, we all boarded a classic Salters Steamers boat and made our way down the River Thames — such a unique and magical way to transition from ceremony to celebration.

It was such a joy capturing candid moments during the boat ride — laughter, hugs, and glasses of fizz in hand — all with Oxford’s skyline slowly drifting into the distance.

Reception at the ISIS Farmhouse

Arriving by boat at the ISIS Farmhouse gave the whole day an added sense of adventure and romance. The sun was shining as guests enjoyed canapés in the garden, surrounded by the lush riverside landscape.

As an ISIS Farmhouse wedding photographer, this location offers so much charm — especially for outdoor shots. We gathered everyone under a beautiful tree near the river for some relaxed and joyful group photos, before heading inside for the wedding breakfast.

Rustic Vibes & Memorable Moments

The interior of the ISIS Farmhouse was decorated beautifully with rustic touches that suited the couple perfectly — a warm, welcoming space that felt both laid-back and full of character.

Dinner was followed by a round of heartfelt and hilarious speeches — from the best man, groom, and a few close friends — each one full of love, laughter, and a few happy tears. These are the moments that make a wedding so personal, and it was a privilege to capture them all.

Candlelit receptions can sometimes pose a challenge for photographers, but the barn’s soft, golden glow offered an enchanting backdrop for this celebration. By carefully positioning my equipment and adapting to the low-light setting, I preserved the atmosphere while ensuring Sarah and Dan’s images remained vivid and clear.

A Classy First Dance to Close the Day

As the sun began to set, Chloe & Ben shared a romantic, elegant first dance surrounded by cheering friends and family. It was the perfect way to round off a day full of genuine joy and connection.
